Open Source Housing Development
Open source technology and neighborhood involvement to encourage the sustainable development of affordable housing.
Generically, open source refers to a system in which the content (in this case building plans) is available to the general public for use and/or modification from its original design free of charge, i.e., open.
Content is typically created as a collaborative effort in which anyone can improve upon the content and share the changes within the community.
Open source sprouted in the technological community as a response to proprietary software owned by corporations.
The indentation is to use open source system to implement the design(s) for affordable sustainable housing plans and / or renovations techniques within the Clinton Hill neighborhood in Brooklyn NYC.
